Stroller

The short definition

A stroller is a wheeled vehicle for an older baby or toddler who can sit upright. Many strollers are adjustable, so the seat can also lie flat or sit at an angle.

What it actually means

Think of it as the chair version. Bub sits up and looks out, once bub can hold themselves upright.

The complication is that the words are not used strictly. "Pram" and "stroller" are often used to mean the same thing in Australia, and plenty of strollers recline a long way back.

That is why the useful question is about the seat. Children under 6 months old should only be placed in a stroller if it reclines to at least 130 degrees.

Where Dadda will hear it

On the box, on the spec sheet, and from the person in the shop, who may use it to mean the same thing as pram.

Not to be confused with

A pram. By definition a pram is for a baby too young to sit up and holds them flat. By shop-floor usage, the two words are the same word.
